Entrepreneurship in Ghana

The Ladies Lead Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organisation established in 2017, focused on equipping the girl-child and the youth with knowledge, skills, and resources to enable a brighter future. Over the years, we have focused on providing materials and information for good menstrual hygiene management, youth education, and equipping the less-privileged with entrepreneurial skills.

Our target group is the girl child, but our young boys also benefit from our educational training, donation of study materials, and donations to underage homes. We aim to empower the girl-child to realise their worth and take initiative for societal transformation. The Foundation has impacted lives in Greater Accra and Eastern regions and aims to extend its activities to all other areas of Ghana.

Our Mission

To empower the girl-child and youth in underserved communities across Ghana through education, menstrual health programs, and entrepreneurial skills — giving every girl the tools, confidence, and resources to realise her worth and take initiative for positive societal transformation.

From Humble Beginnings to
Lasting Change

2017

Ladies Lead Foundation is Founded

A group of passionate ladies come together with a shared vision: to empower marginalised girls across Ghana. The Foundation is officially registered and the work begins.

2018

First School Education Outreach

We launched our first round of school outreach programs — providing study materials, hosting Teen Talks, and delivering our first menstrual hygiene education sessions in schools.

2019

Menstrual Hygiene Initiative Launches

Our formal MHC program kicks off — distributing sanitary pads to girls in schools across Greater Accra and Eastern regions and providing education on healthy period management.

2021

Entrepreneurial Skills Training Begins

We launch our entrepreneurial skills training cohorts — equipping out-of-school girls with income-generating skills in fashion, food, jewellery, and digital business.

2023

5,000 Girls Milestone Reached

A landmark year — Ladies Lead Foundation crosses the 5,000 girls directly empowered mark and begins expanding its reach to new regions across Ghana.

2025

8,500+ Lives Impacted & Growing

Today, Ladies Lead Foundation has empowered over 8,500 girls and women, distributed 40,000+ sanitary pads, and continues to grow its programs across multiple regions in Ghana and beyond.
